Chris gets observer plug
02 June 2003
Everyone gets their 15 minutes of fame - looks like Chris has just got his. The Observer has plugged the Puncher website! How long will it be until RoysWorld gets a mention?
Program determines sex
30 May 2003
According to Sify news a computer program to pinpoint author's sex has been written.
Presumably it scans the text and looks for little circles or hearts on top of the letter 'i'.
Uffington White Horse
18 May 2003
We took the kids up to see the Uffington White Horse today. Billy thought they were really clever to be able to draw such a big horse with chalk. Annie just laid in the push chair trying to look interested, and gurgling to Dad to make sure he had a firm enough grip. We parked next to several old 'uns sipping from flasks of hot tea wondering who the mad family were wrestling in the wind with various coats, buggy covers and other miscellaneous waterproofs.
Apparently St George slayed the Dragon nearby on Dragon Hill and the white patch is where the blood was spilt. One theory is that the horse is an ancient fertility symbol - so I'd better keep a 'peg on it' for a few days.
The locals also used to race cheeses down the side of the hill into an area called the Manger. We thought about continuing the tradition but decided that the Dairy-Lee triangles we had would be difficult to 'race'.
New improved RoysWorld
16 May 2003
Welcome to the new look Roysworld. I hope you like it. After getting addicted to reading my mate James' weblog I decided that Roysworld would also become a weblog - so here it is.
So what's been going on in Roy's World. Quite a lot really. I changed jobs back in November meaning that I now work in London. The commute is a bit long, but the work is really interesting. Still trying to come up with my 'killer idea' that will mean I can give up work. I would tell you the details of my latest plan - but then of course I would have to kill you...
We've just moved Billy into his own room (that he's really proud of) and he's decided he wants a space theme - so most weekends now I've got my jigsaw and sander out and I'm screwin' and gluein' various bits of MDF together to turn the inside of a rather ordinary bedroom into a space craft. Billy's also trying to get through the night without a nappy now - so that's fun.
Annie's growing up faster than can believe. She still smiles at me (well anyone actually) whenever I try to be 'amusing' so at least there's still one member of the household that enjoys my entertainment. Her latest hobby is blowing raspberries (and any food/drink/spittle that happens to be in her mouth) at anyone and everyone.
Paula's as busy as ever spending money looking after the family and getting on with the art work for Billy's space room.

Hello. My name is Roy. I live in rural Oxfordshire.
This is my blog. I write about things that interest me, make me laugh or that I want to remember.
